I’ve always been captivated with the magic of learning.

But my journey into education didn’t start at the front of a classroom. It started in the hallways. While I was at University, I spent some of my summers working as a school custodian. That experience taught me something I’ve carried with me for over 20 years: schools are built on more than just books—they are built on care, environment, and the people who show up every day.

In those hallways and classrooms I moved through many roles as I professionally developed. From teacher's aide, to teaching at many levels, then onto coaching, science coordinator, S.T.E.A.M. coordinator, and learning specialist. Eventually, I stepped into leadership as an Assistant Principal and then Principal.

After two decades in the system, I realized a fundamental truth: Helping a child become the best version of themselves takes time, patience, and one vital ingredient that a classroom can’t replace: you-parents!

Why GrownUP Teachings?

I’ve seen firsthand that while teachers are essential, parents are a child’s first and foremost teacher. Yet, so many parents feel like they are "just" guessing or waiting for the school to take the lead.
Â
I've founded GrownUP Teachings help parents that are looking for more support and resources. I want to take the "insider" knowledge I’ve gained from 20+ years in school leadership and teach you, the parent. My mission is to help you stop the guesswork and start teaching with the confidence your child deserves. You don’t need a teaching degree to empower your child—you just need the right tools and a bit of heart.

When I’m Not "The Principal"
Â
When I’m not developing strategies for parents, I’m living them! You can usually find me in the kitchen cooking, tucked away with a good book, or navigating the beautiful, messy, rewarding world of being a mum.
